Head of Early Years
A hearty welcome to another session of excitement, wonderful learning opportunities and collaboration. We welcome back returning parents and are elated to receive all the new ones.
It is that time of year again when we gather together after a long departure – the beginning of a new school year.
While you are not part of the teaching staff, you are just as important to your children’s education as we are. Your children receive the best education when you and our dedicated teachers work as a team. Together we can achieve wonderful things when your children are inspired by your support, enthusiasm and involvement.
It was generally an exciting phase in the school as we transited from a Preschool to an Early Years school of which our class nomenclature changed to the following:
Reception will now be known as Nursery 1: This will be our 2+ year-old class
Nursery 1 will now be known as Nursery 2: This will be our 3+ year-old class
Nursery 2 will now be known as Reception: This will be our 4+ year-old class
This session, we shall be more engaged with building more confident and active pupils in Arts, Academics and Athletics. We recognize that learners cannot all be at the same place in their learning curves. For this reason, we ensure that learning is differentiated to meet their individual learning needs. This is where the differentiated learning programmes become useful tools in ensuring that all our pupils’ learning needs are met, and that they receive the maximum benefit from their learning experience while they are with us before they get to Primary school.
There are lots of adventures ahead of us within and outside our classrooms, and I urge you to take time from your busy schedules to become familiar with our school and assessment procedures as these will be further discussed during the Parents’ Forum, New Parents’ Orientation and Open Day.
We shall appreciate your assistance in creating a homework friendly environment at home that will allow your children to excel.
Thank you for your commitment to your child’s education and I look forward to seeing you in the very near future.
